A Crucible of Souls audiobook review

Book image on audible

Oliver Wyman captivatingly narrates a story of adventurous revenge as he brings this old age, archaic, fantasy world to life. Wyman reads this tale of sorcery in a clear, even-toned pace that fits the action-packed writing style. He adopts fitting voice changes to match character personalities,. Especially his British and female accents. He does a wonderful job of swiftly switching between dialects and accents without leaving the reader confused, which is a bonus because there are a lot of characters. His speed matches the writing tone of the scenes, especially the intense sword battle scenes. Even though Wyman’s pitch tends to lower in tone at the end of most sentences, his flow makes up for that distraction with a commanding voice that enhances the fast paced writing.
